Advocacy Network (FAN), a program at Mental Health America of the
Triangle (MHAT) will offer a free workshop
for parents of children with special needs and professionals who provide
services to this population. Attending this workshop will help
participants gain a better understanding on how to navigate special
education services in the public school system.
completing the workshop will leave with a general understanding about:
between regular and special education services
between IEP and 504 Plans
for eligibility of services
elements of writing IEP goals
language of special education
organize school records
The workshop is
offered free of charge, however, donations are gratefully accepted. Training
handouts are included.
